As promised the new version of PHPanywhere was released on or LIVE site 18.12.2009.
But due to some tiny bugs and the implementation of SSL we hadn’t announced it until now.
So now that everything is on the up and up, and we added SSL for login and sign-up (which will make PHPanywhere even more secure) [...]

Yes finally, we have addressed one of the most asked about questions – SSL security!
As of today PHPanywhere has implemented SSL, now whenever you Signup, Logon or try to retrieve a forgotten password it will all be under SSL encryption.

After a lot of you guys asking for it, we finally did it – FTP password prompt!
You no longer have to save your FTP password in our database, when adding a FTP server just leave the “save password” checkbox clear.
And that’s it.
We really hope that this feature will put a lot of your security issues [...]

Finally after lots and lots of work and even more testing, we are ready to transfer version 2.0 of PHPanywhere from Labs to our production site.
So next Sunday evening 22. June we will be doing the transfer.

Labs now officially supports Internet Explorer versions 7 and 8!
So all you IE users out there can finally enjoy PHPanywhere.
*note -  it works in IE 6 as well but it’s not officially supported and user experience may not be pleasant.

I’m ecstatic to say that we have finally posted a new version of PHPanywhere on LABS !!!
Here are in short a list of new features:
- All new code editor
- undo/redo is now handled on client (browser) side, no more waiting for server response
- find and replace feature
- line numbers are now displayed
