v.2.0 Going to Production
Posted on June 15th, 2009 in Updates
Finally after lots and lots of work and even more testing, we are ready to transfer version 2.0 of PHPanywhere from Labs to our production site.
So next Sunday evening 22. June we will be doing the transfer.
We kindly ask you all to report any bugs you find this week on Labs so we can fix them before the transfer.
Kind regards,
PHPanywhere Team

I don’t think its ready for production. Both IE 8 and FF 3.5 beta 99 or something crashes very often under loading of the tabs. I have posted a post on the forum about this earlier.

Thanks for the info, but FF 3.5 is still in beta, so we don’t officially support it yet.
As for IE 8 it works for us, so as soon as we are able to replicate the problem we will fix it.
Thanks

Rockie, please note that FF 3.5 is quite unstable compared to current 3.0 version. Reason for that could be in the new javascript engine. Please, check forums across the internet regarding this topic. Anyway we expect that Mozilla will not release current beta to production. If so, we will make necessary changes so that PHPanywhere works with new FF.
As stated in the previous reply IE 8 doesn’t crash for us, but also doesn’t work as smooth as Opera or FF. We are constantly working on improving the user experience on IE.
Also, the new version of PHPanywhere service that currently resides on labs is much more usable than current production version.
We have tested the new version for more than two months, and many people tested the service independently.
Minor issues will be fixed as they are reported.
There is no benefit in delaying the transfer of the new version to production.
